Police officers suspended amid claims they ‘leaked details of undercover colleagues to organised crime gang’

Two police officers have been suspended over claims they leaked the details of undercover colleagues to an organised crime gang.

Police Scotland has launched an investigation and a number of properties have been raided as part of the probe.

The investigation is being led by the force’s Professional Standards Department (PSD).

It is understood the officers do not hold senior positions.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers have carried out a number of searches at properties across central Scotland as part of an investigation.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
