A house fire that left two people dead in Coventry on Friday was caused by a converted e-bike, according to the fire service.
Fire crews were sent to a first-floor maisonette in The Coppice, Stoke Aldermoor, in the early hours of Friday.
They arrived at 4.40am to find fire consuming the entire property.
Two occupants, who have not been identified, were found dead at the scene. The fire was fully extinguished by 5.55am.
West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service say they have now concluded their investigation into the cause of the fire.
They described it as “accidental” and involving “a peddle bike that had been converted into an electric bike, which was stored in the hallway of the property”.
