England captain Kane speaking to media ahead of final Euro 2024 group game after dismal draw

UK

England captain Harry Kane is speaking to the media in Germany amid criticism of the national team’s performances at Euro 2024.

Kane is speaking in a 2.15pm news conference as England prepares to play Slovenia in their final Group C match on Tuesday night.

Before taking questions, the striker played darts with members of the press pack.

England are in a strong position to advance to the knockout stages of Euro 2024, but their flat performances against Serbia and Denmark in their opening games have drawn criticism from pundits and fans alike.

England boss Gareth Southgate has suggested his players are not fit enough following the criticism of the team’s performances.

He said his side have “limitations” and are struggling to play a pressing game and disrupt the opposing team because of their physical condition.

Kane was taken off in the second half as England limped to a 1-1 draw against Denmark on Thursday – with the Bayern Munich striker having also missed the end of the German domestic season with a back injury.
