Police release CCTV image after girl raped on train

UK

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a teenage girl was raped on a train to London.

The victim was on a c2c train from Laindon, Essex, to West Ham on 9 December when she was assaulted.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man – seen in a white jacket and a black beanie – they want to speak to in connection to the incident.

“The incident took place at around 12.30am on Saturday 9 December,” said the force.

“The victim boarded the train at Laindon station and was sexually assaulted and raped.

“Following a number of enquiries, officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.”

Anyone who recognises the man or has any other information is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
