A dog has been rescued after getting trapped under a kitchen at a home in Swansea.

Firefighters had to remove patio slabs at the rear of the property and dig a tunnel to reach Jock, a three-year-old poodle.

The Swansea West crew was called to the Parkmill area of the city at 7.11am on Tuesday.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the dog was trapped under a “domestic dwelling”.

The exact location of the dog could not be identified and the Wales Urban Search and Rescue team was requested to attend.

Crews dug a tunnel underneath the property’s kitchen to gain access and a second access point was established through the kitchen floor.

Specialist listening and detection equipment and technical search cameras were used by the team to find the dog’s exact location.

Jock, who was found alive and well, was successfully rescued by crews and reunited with his owner.

It is unclear how the dog became trapped underneath the property.
